It’s almost summer and this dog is enjoying the fresh fruits that come with it!
The French Bulldog is so tiny that his entire body can fit inside of a watermelon! Imagine being able to live inside your house while eating it! It’s a dog’s dream come true!
After awhile of munching away, the dog has a bit of a problem: He hasn’t quite eaten to watermelon evenly and he loses balance. Soon the watermelon tips over and the dog slides onto the floor.
When you get your puppy, he’s young and healthy. As he ages, unfortunately, he will likely start to get issues which will cost you.
Dog medications can be very expensive and so can veterinary visits. You love your dog and will do anything you can to keep him happy and healthy.
Most Dog Insurance Is Expensive
Unfortunately, dog insurance is expensive. On average, it will cost you around $380 a year. On the high end, insurance can go up to and above $1000. The heavy prices lead most owners to take their chances and skip getting pet insurance.
The problem? If your pet does get sick, it’s totally up to you to pay that cost. And, think about it: When you look for a job, you’re hoping for an employer who provides health coverage. As human beings, we understand that coverage is important and necessary. Shouldn’t it be necessary for the 4-legged members of your family as well?
We have found a much cheaper and better alternativeto traditional dog insurance. If you haven’t heard of PetPlus, they are a company who aims to make dog health care affordable.
PetPlus membership cost only $50 a month.
Members get:
11111???? Wholesale pricing- Pay only $8 for the same medication others are selling for above $50. 11111???? Prescriptions 11111???? Free delivery 11111???? Local in-store pick up (Walmart, Target, CVS) 11111???? FREE 24/7 ask-a-vet helpline (phone, chat or email)
With the ask-a-vet helpline, you don’t have to pay crazy fees just to ask your local vet one question. Many owners, especially new owners, get anxiety wondering, “Is this normal?” or “Is my dog okay?” Having a vet to immediately chat with will calm anxiety when necessary or will provide actionable advice when it’s needed the most. A normal dog insurance plan won’t give you that! This saves between $300 and $800 a year. We’d pay that price for this service alone!
With wholesale pricing, you will be sure that you’re not spending crazy money on a plan that you won’t actually use. When your pet does need a medication, the cost will be significantly lower. That is an actual fact. PetPlus gives a 100% guarantee that they will save you money. The medication offered includes: flea and tick, prescription medication, heartworm, supplements and prescription food.

In the video above, a man pushes a dog in a baby seat on a swing. And the pup LOVES it! With a big smile on his face, he rises and falls back into his owner’s hands.
Next time you take your dog to the park, remember that he just may love the swingset.
So guys, I’ve been asked to write a blog. At first I took great pride in this. They asked ME to write a blog? My very own column called Dog with a Blog!? Finally someone is realizing my greatness. My immense talent is finally receiving recognition. I will finally be famous.
But then I realized….
They didn’t choose me to start this blog column because my life was particularly interesting. Nope. They chose me because I’m the only dog that can actually type. Well guys, what can I say. I ain’t no dumbass. Just because dogs aren’t allowed to go to school doesn’t mean I didn’t find a way in. Those days my owners thought I ran away, I was actually at school. I’d come home around 3:30 in the afternoon after a long day of studying, only to be scolded by my owners.
“FABIO! Bad Boy!”
Most owners would be so happy and relieved that their pet had returned. Mine were furious. But I wasn’t on the block trying to hook up with the next Chihuahua. I was sitting in the corners of classrooms, peeking at the teacher, just trying to get a lesson in.
I knew there was no way I could take the tests. After all, I’m just a dog. I would have to test my knowledge myself and punish myself if I failed. Two months ago I gave myself my math test by stealing a copy off of the teacher’s desk when she wasn’t looking. Math has always been difficult for me, evidenced by the fact that I FAILED.
I dug up the teacher’s answer sheets and marked the test myself. 23/100. I punished myself by staying in my bed all weekend. My owner tried to get me to go play in the park. I wouldn’t move. She tried to give me a treat. I refused. She even made me my own gourmet meal of chicken and rice, just to cheer me up. I turned it down.
After that terrible weekend, I hit the books even harder. I retook the test and rewarded myself by snatching some cheese off the counter.
Well, I’m proud to say that I have now graduated. Unlike most graduates, I didn’t get a party. I didn’t even get a small gift. Well, actually, my owner coincidently bought me a new harness the same day I self-graduated.
You think that’s nice.
Well, it’s not.
The harness was pink.
I am a boy.
I don’t know why my owner always insists on buying me pink things with frills and bells. By now, you think she would realize that I am a boy. Still, I embrace it. I make pink look like a manly color.
Anyways, guys, you’re stuck with me. I’m here to stay and update you on my daily life, no matter how exciting or boring it may be. Good luck getting rid of me.
In the video above, the owner does pushups with a little motivation from his furry friend. The dog starts doing pushups at the same time the owner does and touches paw with his owner’s hand.
We bet we’ll see this doggy in a bodybuilding competition in a few years 😉
The Bernese Mountain Dog is a breed that truly fits the description of a man’s best friend. He’s very loyal and patient and has a need to please.
The Bernese Mountain Dog is a large-sized dog that originated in Switzerland and is a Sennenhund-type breed.
These dogs have a predominately black coat, with a white chest and brown markings. They have bushy tails and shed frequently. Owners will need to vacuum regularly. Of course, brushing will reduce shedding.
At their largest, Bernese can be about 27 inches tall and 120 pounds (usually males). The smallest females could be 23 inches tall and weigh 75 pounds.
Training these dogs should be fairly easy since they have a need to please and are intelligent. Since Bernese Mountain dogs are sensitive, encouragement and rewards will be beneficial during the training process. But, don’t let their kind-heartedness fool you; they also have the ability to be a watchdog. This breed will bark to alert the family of intruders.
These loyal dogs are very loving towards their owners, almost acting as the big version of a lap dog.
Some even think they are a lap dog:
You may even be able to train this breed to hug on demand:

These dogs are usually peaceful with other animals and with children. Because they are more docile, they can be patient with rambunctious children. However, male Bernese Mountain Dogs can become dominant over other male dogs.
When these dogs are left alone, they could experience separation anxiety, which could result in them destructing items. For this reason, Bernese Mountain dogs are great for people who work from home. They love companionship.
Bernese Mountain dogs are naturally shy. It’s very important that you give them lots of socialization as a puppy to ensure they reach their full social potential as adults.
Owners of Bernese should have a large, fenced-in yard and live somewhere with a cooler climate.
Bernese love playing in snow during wintertime:
This breed is not suited for warm climates or apartments. Historically, they were used on farms and are thus used to large, open outdoor spaces.
Bernese are expensive. The average cost of this breed is $900. Owners should also be prepared to spend money on health issues that will likely arise when this breed reaches middle to old age. The Bernese Mountain Dog is the most expensive dog in terms of medical costs, according to data from Veterinary Pet Insurance.
Although many dogs die of cancer, Bernese have a higher chance of getting the disease. As Bernese age, they may also endure hip and elbow dysplasia and arthritis. They are also prone to epilepsy and heart as early as middle age. Because of these issues, the life expectancy of this breed is lower than others: about 7-8 years.

Most dog owners know to keep their dogs away from chocolate and grapes, but now a common sweetener is also a threat.
The FDA issued a warning for Xylitol, which is often found, toothpaste, mouthwash and in sugarless baking goods or mints.
The alert comes after the FDA’s Center for Veterinary Medicine received many reports of dogs being poisoned by xylitol. Many of these cases pertained to poising from sugarless gum.
How to Prevent Dog Xylitol Poisoning
Only use dog toothpaste for your dogs (never human toothpaste)
Keep products that contain xylitol hidden. Since dogs can come up with creative ways to reach items, keeping poison behind cabinets is best.
“If you’re concerned about your dog eating a food or product with xylitol in it, check the label of ingredients. If it does, indeed, say that it contains xylitol, make sure your pet can’t get to it,” says Martine Hartogensis, a veterinarian at FDA.
Symptoms
Vomiting
Decreased activity
Weakness
Staggering
Collapse
Seizures
If you suspect your dog has gotten into a product containing xylitol, it’s recommended that you take him to an emergency animal hospital immediately.
Despite being one of the biggest pet food markets in the world by value,America‘s pet ownersappear unimaginative in their choice of pet food flavors.
GfK data on sales of dry food, wet food and treats for both dogs and cats reveals the most popular flavors across eight key countries, based on the value sold.
America’s dogs and cats, for example, appear to be totally addicted to chicken – at least, that is the most popular flavor that their owners are buying for them across all three categories. In a country that spent $13 billion in the ‘pet specialty’ market in 2015, that accounts for a significant share of wallet.
Spain’s lucky four-legged friends, on the other hand, get far greater variety, with beef and fish flavors rivaling chicken for both wet food and treats.
The Czech Republic, Greece and China stand out in preferring beef flavor above all others for their dogs’ wet food.
“The US generally sets a trend on what is popular in pet food, but here we see clearly how different the individual markets are around the globe,” says Pushan Tagore, vice president of global marketing for pet care at GfK.
“Clearly the US has scope to innovate further within this area, to bring more variety to the palates of our four-legged friends.”
